Rashida Eli, regarded as one of the most influential contemporary Uyghur female artists, worked as a professional painter at the Xinjiang Academy of Painting from 1987 to 2001. She is currently an artist-in-residence at the Central Academy of Fine Arts Museum. Rashida Eli’s works are imbued with the essence of life and the spirit of nature, reflecting a cultivated sophistication and mature grandeur within her vibrant colors. Her art offers profound resonance and distant yet tangible inspiration.

 

In 2023, she held a solo exhibition at Gaotai Gallery. Her works have received numerous accolades, including the Excellent Work Award at the Chinese Painting and Oil Painting Fine Works Exhibition and the First and Second Chinese Ethnic Minority Art Exhibitions. Her pieces have been featured in publications such as Collection of Chinese Ethnic Minority Art, Collection of Chinese Painting and Oil Painting Fine Works, Xinjiang International Biennale Art Collection, and Guangzhou International Biennale Art Collection. Her works have also been published in professional magazines such as Fine Arts, Art Series, and New Vision. Documentaries about her have been produced by Hong Kong Asia Television and China Central Television’s Oriental Horizon and Art Sky.

 

Her works are part of collections at the National Art Museum of China, the Central Academy of Fine Arts Museum, galleries, and private collectors in the UK. The Xinjiang Art Museum has collected 25 of her works, which are permanently exhibited.
